Resources for Those Impacted by Bronx Apartment Building Fire
On Sunday, January 9th, 2021 an electric space heater malfunction was the cause of an unfortunate five-alarm fire in the Bronx. This tragedy marks one of the city's worst fires in modern history. Various organizations are crowdfunding and collecting donations to assist the families impacted by this tragedy. Please use the link below to access resources or donate if you are interested.
Pro-Bono Legal Assistance
The Bronx Chamber of Commerce is connected with various legal organizations that provide pro-bono legal services.
Arnold & Porter LLP and Volunteers of Legal Service have partnered with the Chamber to provide pro bono (without charge) legal assistance to small business owners, including:
- Helping business owners with questions about Paycheck Protection Program loans, unemployment benefits for the owners themselves, and other legal issues.
- Providing assistance to workers who have lost their jobs or had their hours reduced as a result of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Specifically, helping workers navigate unemployment benefits programs.
- Assisting businesses with the commercial lease assistance program, forming business entities and trademark assistance.
